Who needs to fill out TD1YT?
TD1YT is the Yukon Personal Tax Credits Return. You fill it out if you work in Yukon, or receive a pension and live there, and you're starting a new job or your situation has changed. Your employer uses it with your federal TD1 to work out how much Yukon income tax to deduct from each pay.
What's new and specific to TD1YT for 2026
- Yukon's amounts follow the federal ones: the 2026 Yukon basic personal amount is $16,452, the same as the federal amount.
- Like the federal form, the Yukon basic amount can be partial if your income is over $181,440 (Form TD1YT-WS).
- If you live in Yukon for more than six months in a row, you may also claim the northern residents deduction on page 2 of the federal TD1.

Common mistakes
- Claiming the basic personal amount with two employers at the same time. You can only claim your credits once. On the second job, tick the “more than one employer” box and enter 0, or you'll owe tax in April.
- Using the spouse's gross pay instead of their net income for the spouse amount.
- Keeping an old TD1 after your situation changes. Fill out a new one when you get a new dependant, separate, turn 65 or start a pension.
- Forgetting the provincial form. If you only hand in the federal TD1, your employer uses the provincial basic amount and nothing else.
Frequently asked questions
What is the 2026 Yukon basic personal amount?
$16,452. Every person employed in Yukon, and every pensioner living there, can claim it on line 1 of TD1YT.
Do I need to fill out TD1YT?
You need it if your federal total claim (line 13 of the TD1) is more than $16,452, or if you claim any Yukon amount besides the basic one. If you don't fill it out, your employer deducts Yukon tax using only the basic personal amount.
Who do I give TD1YT to?
Your employer or payer, along with your federal TD1. Don't send it to the CRA. Keep a copy for yourself.
Can I claim the basic amount with two employers?
No. Claim your credits with one employer only. On the other TD1s, tick the “more than one employer” box and enter 0 as your total.
