Question 1

Who needs to fill out TD1MB?

TD1MB is the Manitoba Personal Tax Credits Return. You fill it out if you work in Manitoba, or receive a pension and live there, and you're starting a new job or your situation has changed. Your employer uses it with your federal TD1 to work out how much Manitoba income tax to deduct from each pay.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 2026 Manitoba basic personal amount?

$15,780. Every person employed in Manitoba, and every pensioner living there, can claim it on line 1 of TD1MB.

Do I need to fill out TD1MB?

You need it if your federal total claim (line 13 of the TD1) is more than $16,452, or if you claim any Manitoba amount besides the basic one. If you don't fill it out, your employer deducts Manitoba tax using only the basic personal amount.

Who do I give TD1MB to?

Your employer or payer, along with your federal TD1. Don't send it to the CRA. Keep a copy for yourself.

Can I claim the basic amount with two employers?

No. Claim your credits with one employer only. On the other TD1s, tick the “more than one employer” box and enter 0 as your total.
